We are an online retailer of fashions specializing in teen styles for prom, homecoming, formals, and other special occasions for the past 11 years. We are seeking an experienced high-level ColdFusion developer for a initial 6-month contract in order to work on development of our next generation e-commerce platform.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing a highly scalable web application used to host multiple websites
* Expanding a ColdFusion/SQLServer based e-commerce platform with content management, inventory and workflow features
* Creating and implementing web site designs in clean, well-structured HTML and CSS, integrating new designs with the templates within a custom content management system
* Extending database support for use by the web application and partner data integration
* Web server system administration
Required qualifications include:
* Expertise in Adobe ColdFusion 8
* 4+ years of direct experience in web application development
* 2+ years of database development experience
* Experience with enterprise web installs
* Working knowledge of SQL server architecture
* High familiarity with structured HTML / JavaScript / CSS (basic web design standards)
* Effective communication skills both technically and business-wise
* Understanding of how to test and monitor web services at machine and application levels
* Experience development high-availability retail shopping sites
* Past usage of SubVersion within a team environment
* Understanding of managing ColdFusion in a Linux environment
In addition:
* You must be able to handle the demands of an ever-changing, fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
* You must have excellent organizational skills
* You must possess a strong work ethic and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
This is a 6 month contract assignment at offices in New York, NY starting in October.
